Brass 360 Dowel Pins

Free-machining brass — excellent machinability.

C360 is the free-machining brass and one of the easiest materials on this list to turn to a tight tolerance. As a pin it is non-magnetic and non-sparking, which is why it appears in instrument, electrical and hazardous-area work. It is soft compared to the stainlesses, so it locates well but wears quickly under repeated assembly, and it will tarnish in open air without affecting fit.

Brass pins are specified for what they do not do: they do not spark, they are not magnetic, and they will not mark a softer mating surface as readily as steel. Those are the reasons worth paying for; brass is otherwise the softest option here.

Any length, not just the stocked ones

The diameters below are the standard nominal sizes, because that is what a hole is usually reamed for. The lengths are not a constraint: anything from 0.02" to 4" can be turned to order, which is the step that otherwise means cutting a stock pin down and re-finishing the end. Diameters run from 0.015" to 0.375", including sizes between two standard ones.

No pre-priced size pages are published for Brass 360 yet, but it is fully available in the configurator — enter any diameter and length for an instant price.
