Titanium Grade 5 Dowel Pins
Ti-6Al-4V — high strength-to-weight, corrosion resistant.
Ti-6Al-4V is specified where mass matters or where the pin sits against titanium structure and galvanic pairing is a concern. It is roughly half the density of stainless at comparable strength, and it is biocompatible, which is why it appears in implantable and hand-held surgical hardware. It is slow and abrasive to machine, which lengthens the cycle time — price it against the alternatives in the configurator rather than assuming, because the ranking here depends on what bar stock costs on the day and it is not always what you would expect.
Titanium pins are almost always specified for a reason that is not strength — biocompatibility, mass, MRI compatibility, or avoiding a galvanic couple with titanium structure. If none of those apply, a stainless pin will usually do the same job, and it is worth configuring both to compare before committing.
Any length, not just the stocked ones
The diameters below are the standard nominal sizes, because that is what a hole is usually reamed for. The lengths are not a constraint: anything from 0.02" to 4" can be turned to order, which is the step that otherwise means cutting a stock pin down and re-finishing the end. Diameters run from 0.015" to 0.375", including sizes between two standard ones. Pricing in Titanium Grade 5 starts at $2.89 per piece at 100 off, and falls further at higher volumes.
